As children, we enjoy hand-crafting and creating unique items from simple things found at home. Although often they do not carry a deep meaning, some of them do. One of such examples is the Korean traditional decorative pendant, Norigae, which symbolizes luck, happiness, and prosperity. Therefore, on March 19 Appenzeller House hosted a <DIY Norigae> program, to appreciate Korean culture and recall those carefree times.
Gathered in Veritas Hall B, 12 RC students were not only introduced to the delicate process of Norigae making, but were also given the freedom to express their creativity. By choosing the colors, length, and decorative beads, each student created a unique piece. Putting love and effort into the creation and communicating with one another during the program, the Norigae had already brought happiness to the students.
In the end, the program was not only about making Norigae, but about sharing stories, expressing creativity, and creating warm memories together.
